Welcome to the website of the YWCA Hockey Club “Ydub”
Ydub hockey club was formed over 35 years ago by a group of similar minded ladies who had a passion for fun social hockey. Over the years the club grew from one ladies team to two ladies teams, by this stage the husbands of the ladies that played started to get bored with their lack of weekend sporting activity and decided to form the first Ydub men’s team. 10 years have now passed since this decision was made and both the Men’s and Ladies sections have gone from strength to strength. Currently there are two ladies & men’s teams with the first XI of each section competing at a competitive level. The club’s ethos is very much based upon enjoyment of the game of hockey on all levels, on and off the field.
During the summer months Ydub enters numerous social teams to the Wellington summer hockey leagues.
No matter what experience you have we are always open to new members.
